Eleonora bard
Eleonora bard
Elenora is a 19th-century border from the Nästgårds show house in Gysinge. The motif of a bell pull was a very common decorative element during the Gustavian period and has survived as a pattern form. Borders were considered important. Without a border, the wallpaper was unfinished. Before the 20th century, borders could both match and contrast the colour of the wallpaper. Borders can therefore be used to advantage with all the wallpapers in this collection book, both patterned and solid-coloured.
